The predicted salary is between 40000 - 53000 £ per year.

We are looking for lawyers to join our team as either a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in our Law Academic Team based at our Moorgate Campus. This role operates on a 5-over-7-day working pattern, which may include evenings and weekends to support our flexible delivery model.

Reporting into our Academic Management Team, you will be providing tuition across The University of Law course portfolio including the LPC, SQE, BPC, Law Conversion Programmes (PGDL and MAL), LLM in Legal Practice, LLB, Professional Skills Course/Professional Development, Academic Masters courses and/or other University courses to the best possible standard.

We are open to applicants in all areas of law from qualified lawyers (solicitors and barristers), with experience in practice, to teach on our professional courses. We welcome applicants who have experience of legal tech and corporate governance.

Please note: the panel for these roles will beinterviewing candidates on receipt of their applications and may close the advert early due to large volumes of applications.

As our Lecturer/ Senior Lecturer , you will:

  • Deliver high quality teaching and support for learning, including communication with other academics for the continuous improvement of teaching and student support
  • Identify the need for developing the content, structure, assessment within modules with colleagues and make proposals on how this should be achieved.
  • Contribute to effective design and review of inclusive learning. Maintain quality standards and regulations in curricular design.
  • Routinely communicate complex and conceptual ideas to those with limited knowledge and understanding as well as to peers using high level skills
  • Act as a module tutor, academic coach and sign-post students on pastoral aspects during their learning journey.

  • Sufficient breadth and depth of professional experience in the relevant discipline to develop teaching programmes and learning support

Requirements for Lecturer positions:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent in a relevant subject
  • Fellowship of Advance HE (HEA) or equivalent or willingness to work towards*
  • Relevant teaching qualification or willingness to work towards PGCHE*

* Please note that if you do not currently hold this, it is a requirement of the University that you will enrol into the programme (delivered and financially supported by the University), usually within 12 months of passing probation. Successful completion/qualification is essential to this role.

Requirements for Senior Lecturer positions:

  • Postgraduate qualification or equivalent in a relevant subject
  • Fellowship of Advance HE (HEA)
  • Relevant teaching qualification

Senior Lecturers will have developed significant expertise in the application and practical delivery of a range of teaching techniques, pastoral care, mentoring colleagues, assessment design, marking and team leadership.
