Are you a globally experienced and entrepreneurial Sales Leader with a strong background in service operations within the electrical equipment or manufacturing sectors? NES Fircroft has been exclusively retained by a client recognised as a \”Best Employer 2025\” who is seeking a Director of Service Operations to accelerate their growth across the UK.
This pivotal role will oversee the strategic planning, execution, and continuous improvement of service operations, ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. You will combine leadership of service delivery with a strong emphasis on business development, driving revenue growth and strengthening client relationships for innovative electrical solutions.
In this Director of Service Operations role, you can expect to:
- Lead end-to-end service operations across project management, engineering, estimating, and field service for electrical systems—driving efficiency, reducing downtime, and ensuring safety and compliance.
- Grow service revenue by identifying contract renewals, upsell opportunities, and new business, working closely with sales to develop proposals, negotiate deals, and build strong client relationships.
- Inspire and manage a high-performing team of technicians, coordinators, and managers—recruiting top talent, setting clear goals, and fostering continuous development.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and sales to align service delivery with business goals, while managing budgets, forecasts, and P&L to maximise profitability.
- Act as the escalation point for complex service issues, using customer feedback to drive improvements and representing the business at client meetings, industry events, and trade shows
To be successful in this Director of Service Operations position, you will need a robust background in service operations leadership and business development within the electrical industry. We are looking for candidates with:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred).
- Significant experience in service operations, with 4+ years in a leadership role within the electrical equipment, industrial, or manufacturing sectors.
- Proven sales experience and a track record of driving revenue growth through service contracts and client relationship management.
- A strong understanding of electrical power systems, equipment maintenance, and field service operations.
- Exceptional leadership, team management, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, along with proficiency in data analysis, budgeting, and performance metrics.
