About the Role:
As an Automation QA Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing automated test frameworks to ensure the reliability and performance of event-driven cloud applications. You will work closely with development and DevOps teams to test applications that leverage AWS services such as Lambda, EventBridge, and SQS.
This is a hybrid role requiring days per week onsite in London, UK . The initial contract duration is β months , with a strong possibility of extension .
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain automated test cases using Java and Spring Boot frameworks.
Design test strategies for AWS-based services including Lambda functions, EventBridge, SQS, and event mappers.
Support behavior-driven development (BDD); knowledge of Cucumber is a plus.
Implement automated testing for event-driven architectures and microservices.
Validate message flows using AWS SQS and Kinesis Streams.
Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure seamless CI/CD and deployment.
Log, track, and manage bugs and ensure test coverage and quality standards are met.
Preferred Skills:
Proven experience in automation testing, particularly with Java and Spring Boot.
Hands-on experience with AWS services like Lambda, EventBridge, SQS, and Kinesis.
Familiarity with supporting AWS technologies such as DynamoDB, API Gateway, and CloudFormation.
Knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, and Python for scripting and automation.
Experience working within CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
BDD experience and tools such as Cucumber are advantageous.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
