A food manufacturing procurement heavyweight needed for a hugely successful SME in the food industry.
I’m looking for true strategic sourcing expert who has excellent project and stakeholder management skills gained from a food manufacturing or retail environment. This is an opportunity to join a leading food business to really shape the procurement function and drive the business forward to ensure continued success. Managing a team of 5, you’ll form part of the leadership team and will come on board to lead the buying function and implement category sourcing plans in line with the businesses broader sourcing strategy with the aim of reducing and managing supply, brand and price risk.
Working closely with the wider business you’ll develop and implement best practice sourcing strategies, identifying and managing product risk across Brand, Supply and Price.
Other key areas of responsibility include :
- Identify category sourcing plans.
- Supplier selection and categorisation.
- Running RFIs and RFQs.
- Understand suppliers and how they operate optimising end to end supply chains.
- In a sustainable, way negotiate with suppliers, improving trading positions.
Candidates will currently be working in an environment operating in a fast paced food environment either at a retailer or liaising with retailers on a daily basis. You will have a real understanding of the end to end supply chain and very strong stakeholder and project management skills. Your procurement experience will have been gained in either a retail or food manufacturing environment and over time will have developed first class influencing and negotiation skills.
