The Role
Uncovered is a dynamic social creative agency with a team of 60+ talented individuals, generating c. £6m in revenue. With ambitious expansion plans of 50% growth within the UK and opening a new office in the US in 2025, we are seeking a skilled Financial Controller to support our business through this exciting phase of growth and scaling.
As Financial Controller your role will work closely with the company founders and the senior leadership team where you will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations, ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting, and providing strategic financial insights to support our expansion plans, ensuring the smooth running of our day-to-day finances as well as supporting the commercial, compliance and system advancements that will support our growth.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for a range of activities which will assist with the running of Uncovered:
- Financial Management : oversee daily financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Reporting : Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, management reports, and analysis for senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Budgeting & Forecasting : Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans to support business growth and expansion.
- Compliance & Audit : Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax laws, and accounting standards. Support company compliance initiatives and ERG requirements, particularly re supplier and vendor agreements.
- Cash Flow Management : Monitor and manage cash flow, working capital, and funding requirements to support business operations and expansion plans.
- Strategic Planning : Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making and business growth.
- Team Management : Manage finance assistant and cross collaboration with operations team (HR/Talent/Office Management) to support a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Process Improvement : Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial efficiency and accuracy including systems and BI capability upgrades in line with business requirements.
- Risk Management : Identify financial risks and develop mitigation strategies to protect the company’s financial health.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in financial management.
- Skills & Attributes: Detail-oriented, analytical individual with a collaborative approach. Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and evolving environment. Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.
