We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Deputy Team Leader in the York Hospitals Acute Theatre Team.

We are looking for a highly motivated, dynamic practitioner with the appropriate clinical and scrub experience to help lead our acute theatre.

You will work alongside your Band 7 to support our dedicated team and continuously develop our service to provide excellent care for our patients. The successful applicant will need to demonstrate a keen interest in improving and developing their leadership skills to enable staff management, and be an effective role model demonstrating high levels of clinical competence and expertise. The ability to confidently coordinate the multidisciplinary team and manage challenging situations is essential.

You should have a minimum of 3 years’ Band 5 theatre scrub experience and demonstrate involvement in service improvement with some evidence of change management. Skills in self-management, including time management, prioritisation, and organisational skills, are required.

This role is demanding and requires knowledge of our Trust\’s vision and being a team player. All shifts are 11.5 hours minus breaks, from 07:45 to 20:15 or 20:00 to 08:00, covering weekends and bank holidays. You must be willing to work a rotating shift pattern.
