Job Title: Claims Handler Department: Small Claims Recovery Location: Newcastle upon Tyne Salary: Β£25,000-Β£28,000 per annum About the Role Are you an experienced Claims Handler or looking to take the next step in your career? We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Claims Handler to join a Small Claims Recovery team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a caseload of Uninsured Loss Recovery Claims, primarily focusing on vehicle damage and credit hire recovery. You\βll take claims from inception to conclusion, ensuring efficient handling, communication and resolution. Key Responsibilities Review and manage approximately 100-140 claims files at various stages Handle telephone enquiries from clients, introducers, insurers, solicitors and other relevant parties Maintain accurate records of key dates and ensure proper database/file management Liaise with insurers, hire car companies and engineers to negotiate settlements Prepare court papers and assist with litigation when necessary Assess the prospects of success in litigation and gather relevant evidence Regularly report updates to clients and team leaders Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth file handling Ensure that any potential issues or delays are communicated to your team leader Conduct litigation up to and including final hearings on behalf of the client What We\βre Looking For Previous experience in credit hire or litigation is desirable, though claims handling experience in any field will be considered Strong knowledge of legal concepts and procedures, including the issue and service of proceedings Excellent attention to detail and a keen focus on providing great client care Proficient in Microsoft Office and time-recording software Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle conflicting priorities effectively A proactive, enthusiastic, and conscientious team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work independently while meeting deadlines and contributing to the success of the team Why Join Us?
