This is a hands-on role, working with a broad range of clients in the Wine Category across branded and own label, global CPGs and start-ups. You’ll combine account management and new business development, growing existing accounts while also hunting for new opportunities via outbound activity.

You’ll need to get forensic with your client’s business, their brands, their challenges, their relationship with Tesco and use that knowledge to shape commercial propositions that drive real value.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Owning a portfolio of clients in the Tesco Wine category
  • Building a pipeline of new business via outreach, networking, and referrals.
  • Creating value-led insight propositions using Clubcard data, EPOS and shopper research.
  • Leading proposals and pricing conversations, and forecasting accurately.
  • Building strong, multi-layered relationships within your client’s organisation, from Category to Sales.
  • Becoming an expert in our tools and methodology, knowing how to match our solutions with our clients challenges.

  • Commercially sharp, with a track record of influencing stakeholders using data and insight.
  • Resilient – you find new angles when the first path is blocked.
  • Comfortable pitching, negotiating and closing.
  • Able to move between farming and hunting, depending on what the role needs that week.
  • Structured and numerate – you take ownership of your plan and your pipeline.
  • Experience leading a full sales cycle from initial discovery call to close.

Ideal background:

  • Account management or sales experience ideally in a grocery-facing role (e.g. FMCG, retail data, or agency side). A bonus but not essential.
  • Confident selling into Commercial, Category or Insight teams.
