Job Description

This exciting role will lead the continued development of Inspire Stirling’s Youth, a youth led programme empowering young people across the Stirling community. The post holder will support young people to overcome personal barriers to participation in sport, physical activity, volunteering, and employment by providing a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment.

A key aspect of the role is mentoring young people to become active decision makers. The coordinator will guide Inspire participants to take a lead in areas such as co-designing opportunities and helping to shape future opportunities for youth across Stirling as well as setting personal goals.

The post holder will also coordinate and deliver inclusive sporting activities, coaching clinics, and events throughout Stirling, ensuring accessible and enjoyable opportunities that support health, confidence, and life skills development.

They will deliver on the outcomes and priorities outlined by Young Start and Inspire Stirling’s Youth, ensuring the programme continues to grow as a youth led initiative that reflects the voices and ambitions of young people.

Please note, this role is fixed term until April 2026. The full time equivalent salary based on 37 hours per week is £28,600 per annum. The actual salary based on 20 hours per week is £15,459 per annum.

Requirements

• Sports Coaching qualifications.

• Ability to engage positively with young people aged 8 – 25.

• Ability to enthuse and motivate young people to take part in activity.

• A passion to use sport to change lives.

• Ability to take constructive feedback.

• Confidence with public speaking.

• Confidence and experience with planning, delivering, and evaluating sports sessions.

• Experience and confidence with mentoring young people.

• A desire to support young people access inclusive opportunity and encouraging positive pathways to employability or education.

• Experience in collaborating with local partners and organisations.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver inclusive, community based sport and physical activity sessions for young people across Stirling.

• Establish and run weekly coaching clinics to support skill development, confidence, and progression in sport.

• Recruit, train, develop and deploy Inspire Stirling Volunteers and coaches.

• Provide regular 1-2-1 and group mentoring sessions for programme participants and referred young people, supporting personal growth and goal setting.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with local organisations, charities, schools, clubs, and services to create wider opportunities for young people and promote the programme.

• Coordinate and support events and activities that celebrate youth achievement and encourage community involvement.

• Work alongside young people to ensure their voice is central to planning, including their involvement in programme, recruitment, decisions on future opportunities, and management of a new funding application process for clubs and groups to support youth training and development.

• Deliver on the outcomes and priorities required by Young Start and Inspire Stirling’s Youth, ensuring the programme stays youth led, inclusive, and impactful.

• Work with the Employability and Volunteering Officer to distribute funding appropriately across Inspires programme, training, and events. Deliver workshops, courses and coaching clinics to young people.
