Position Description

Key Responsibilities

Teach Latin to students in upper and/or lower school (grade levels may vary)
Equip students with foundational grammar, vocabulary, and reading skills
Cultivate student appreciation for Latin’s role in classical literature, Church history, and English language development
Encourage joyful rigor and wonder in the study of ancient languages
Use classical methods, including chanting, repetition, narration, and translation
Shepherd students’ minds and hearts with Biblical and gospel-centered instruction
Establish clear expectations for behavior, effort, and respect
Communicate regularly with parents about student growth and learning goals
Maintain an orderly classroom environment using theLove and Logicapproach
Participate in faculty meetings and school-wide events as a full member of the LCA community

Qualifications

A deep and growing faith in Jesus Christ
Bachelor’s degree in Classics, Latin, education, or a related field
Teaching experience preferred, especially in classical or Christian education
Proficiency in Latin and familiarity with classical pedagogy
Desire to promote virtue, wisdom, and a Biblical worldview through language study
Strong classroom management, organizational, and communication skills
