Job Title: Senior Management Accountant
To support the growth of our team in London, we are recruiting for a newly created position: Senior Management Accountant . You will join the Internal Accounting division of BRVZ, the Shared Service Centre for STRABAG UK, which delivers vital services that empower our operational teams to deliver outstanding construction and engineering projects across the United Kingdom. BRVZ’s expertise spans Financial and Management Accounting, IT Services, Personnel and Payroll Administration, and Insurance. This is an exciting opportunity within a rapidly expanding group, offering an international working environment in the construction sector.
Minimum Qualifications and Skills
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CIMA qualification preferred)
- Proven experience in cost accounting, ideally in the construction industry
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Strong leadership skills with a hands-on, supportive management style
- A can-do attitude with a passion for problem-solving and process improvement
- Strong verbal and written communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Expert knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the smooth running of daily operations within the department
- Lead, support, and develop a team of cost accountants, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration
- Guarantee accurate cost allocation and compliance with internal controls and accounting standards
- Oversee and support month-end and year-end closing processes
- Coordinate and contribute to Group reporting requirements
- Support the creation and implementation of policies and procedures to promote consistency and accuracy
- Drive process optimization and automation initiatives within the cost accounting function
- Act as a business partner to operational teams and other group service companies on cost accounting matters
- Collaborate closely with colleagues across BRVZ departments and the Austrian Head Office on daily operations and projects
- Develop and conduct training to support the development of the STRABAG UK organization
