Want to make a difference in someone\’s life? Looking for a part time role? Hate the idea of being stuck behind a screen? This might be a great fit for you!
I am recruiting 2 part-time personal care assistants- immediate and September starts available.
This position is a great opportunity for the right person to work alongside me, supporting me to live my life as an independent, disabled woman.
You must:
– Be a quick learner. Training is provided, and no experience necessary, but a good attitude is key.
– Be relatively strong and physically fit to help me with day to day tasks (e.g. lifting heavier items into the car)
– Have a good level of written and spoken English
– Be happy working around pets
– Have a full UK driver\’s license and be comfortable driving bigger cars
– Already have the right to work in the UK. Unfortunately this role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
Shifts are allocated on a rota basis, normally between 3 – 12 hours in length. There is some flexibility to negotiate your new rota and days off depending on pre-existing commitments (e.g. if you have another client, or a regular event or club, and if your colleagues are supportive sometimes a shift swap can be negotiated to allow you to maximise time off). Some weekend and evening work will be required.
As I have a physical disability and need support with many of the more physically demanding parts of daily living such as housework, lifting heavy parcels upstairs for me, moving my wheelchair around and taking me on trips. This role can be slightly more demanding than some standard PA/carer roles, which applicants should be in mind.
I do not normally require support overnight at home, but it is at occupational requirement for this role that you are available for overnight stays a few times a year to accompany me on work trips or camping breaks away, that you will be given notice for, normally of several months. If you enjoy the outdoors, and being in the countryside, you will probably enjoy this aspect of the role. Ask me for more details.
I require support with routine aspects of daily living such as showering, dressing, cooking, shopping, laundry and housework. I need support with travel, so you will also be driving me to various medical, veterinary, hair, dental and other appointments, plus social outings. I love being out in nature, so when it\’s warm enough I like getting out whenever possible.
Applicants must have a full, clean UK driving license to be able to drive my car, and have the right to work in the UK. This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check, and reference checks. Interview dates are TBC.
To apply, send a CV or email to SouthBrumPA@Gmail.com
If you have any specific questions, or want to have a general chat about the role(s), send a brief email to the above contact with your name, contact details and the best times to call, and I\’ll try to reach out to arrange a time. As I work, I may not be able to respond immediately, but will as soon as I am able.
