About the Role
We are hiring for a Director Corporate Sales Europe. In this role, you will lead Springer Nature’s sales efforts targeting Corporate & Health accounts across Europe. This pivotal role demands strategic insight, revenue generation expertise, and the ability to adapt to evolving market conditions within the private sector, including companies, research institutions, and hospitals. The successful candidate will shape and implement market strategies, driving a high-performing team with a strong sales focus. This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals who excel in problem-solving and possess strong analytical skills.
Role Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a team of 9 (key) account sales professionals across Europe.
- Devise and execute sales strategies to achieve or exceed renewal and new sales targets across multiple product lines.
- Monitor and optimize sales plan implementation throughout Europe.
- Analyze market data to produce sales reports, forecasts, and performance targets.
- Collaborate with the VP Specialized Sales on business development initiatives to ensure customer satisfaction, sales growth, and new channel development.
- Cultivate strong client relationships through active engagement in industry events, conferences, and on-site visits.
- Serve as a product and industry expert, staying attuned to market trends and Springer Nature’s offerings.
Experience, Skills & Qualifications:
Essential
- University degree or equivalent.
- Proven ability to drive new sales and establish business partnerships in the Corporate & Health sector.
- Accurate forecasting capabilities; outstanding communication and presentation skills; proactive problem-solver capable of managing challenging situations.
- Strategic thinker with strong attention to detail and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Proven track record in a similar role within the publishing or SaaS industry, specifically with Corporate & Health clients across Europe.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage multinational teams remotely.
- Strong understanding of the B2B research publishing market for private sector entities.
- Experience in driving change, simplifying complex processes, and influencing stakeholders.
- Proficiency in complex contract negotiations and proposal development.
- Skilled in using CRM systems to track account activity and territory performance.
- Willingness to travel as required; fluent in English.
Desirable
- Proficiency in additional European languages.
- In-depth understanding of Corporate & Health clients’ needs and challenges in research and publishing.
- Experience in selling IP, data, and/or analytics solutions.
