Position Description
Lighthouse Christian Academy is seeking a nurturing and dedicated 2nd Grade Teacher who loves Jesus, delights in young learners, and is committed to forming both the hearts and minds of students through a classical Christian education. The second-grade teacher will provide instruction in core subjects— such as reading, writing, math, Bible, and history—while cultivating wonder, virtue, and a sincere love for learning.
Key Responsibilities
• Teach core academic subjects with a classical, Christ-centered approach
• Create a joyful and orderly classroom where students thrive spiritually, academically, and socially
• Shepherd students’ hearts through prayer, Scripture, and gospel-filled instruction
• Lead the students in practicing healthy habits of mindful attention, following directions, humility, and curiosity
• Build strong relationships with students and their families
• Maintain clear expectations for behavior and participation
• Use the Love and Logic approach for classroom management

Qualifications
