SRS Partnerships client, a leading manufacturing business renowned for producing high-quality products and a premier name in their industry, is currently looking for an additional CHP Plant Operator to join their team based in Troon! You will be responsible for ensuring the continuous operation of the CHP plant within the defined set-point automatic control values, while adhering to all safety protocols. The primary objective is to maximize the efficient delivery of heat and power from the plant. Operational and Maintenance Reports * Fuel Moisture Content – Belt Drying Operation * Density Samples – Belt Drying Operation * Fuel Calorific Value Samples – Bark, Butt Chips & Dried Chips * Water Analysis (W1, W2, W3 & W4) – CHP Plant Operation * Shift Handover Report * Maintenance & Greasing of Plant Key Responsibilities • Routine Operations and Maintenance Activities: Perform regular operations and maintenance tasks to ensure the CHP Plant operates at its highest availability, minimizing downtime and ensuring optimal efficiency. • Working at Heights: Safely perform tasks such as clearing blocked sensors, greasing bearings, conveyors, and other equipment that require working at elevated positions, following safety protocols and utilising appropriate equipment. • Driving Heavy Machinery: Operate heavy machinery such as Volvo bucket loaders, telehandlers, and forklifts, ensuring safe and efficient handling of equipment for plant operations. • Fuel Loading for Walking Floors: Load fuel into walking floors using a Volvo bucket loader: a. Ensure the belt dryer walking floor is filled with wet wood chips and maintained at full capacity. b. Maintain the CHP walking floor with a mixture of bark, butt chips, and dried chips according to the ratio set by the CHP Manager, ensuring uniform moisture content and mix. • Operator’s Report and Data Completion: Complete daily operator reports and contribute to weekly analysis, including but not limited to: * Residue density and moisture content * Oven samples and fuel calorific samples * Meter readings of electric and thermal meters * Raw material volumes and processing volumes * Water sampling and other related data. • Plant Operation Checks: Perform checks to ensure the plant is capable of full operation. Organize and carry out duties such as timely emptying of ash containers, ensuring silo truck loading is operational, and addressing any other related tasks for smooth plant operation. * Respond promptly to alarms raised by the computer system and take appropriate actions to restore the plant to its correct operational set points. * Ensure a clean and organized working environment is always maintained. * Adhere to the maintenance schedule to guarantee continuous 24/7 plant operations. * Perform any other duties as assigned by the CHP Manager or Supervisor.
