The Opportunity:
We’re looking for an immediately available Accountant with strong manufacturing sector experience to step into a key role as UK Finance Manager. Joining a fast-paced, dynamic business, you’ll take ownership of UK legal entity reporting, support operational teams with stock and production management, lead variance analysis, strengthen financial controls, and manage a small finance team. This is a high-impact role with the potential for longer-term opportunities.
Principal Accountabilities:
Production of Month End Accounts for 2 Entities
- Work within tight reporting deadlines
- Journals including Fixed Assets, Royalties, VAT, Interco Recharges, Accruals / Prepayments, Payroll
- Margin Analysis
- Thorough analysis and summary of Overhead spend v prior periods and Budget/ Forecast
- Manufacturing Variances including Scrap, PPV, Absorption
- Balance Sheet Reconciliations including Intercompany Balances, GRNI, AR, AP, Stock (inc Cut Off) and Bank
Manufacturing
- Standard Cost Updates – individual and annual update for BOM and Labour and Overhead Rate Calculation including efficiency calculations
- Variance Analysis – PPV, Scrap/ Waste, Absorption
- Stock Control – working with Operations to ensure stock integrity via stock counts
- Stock Provisioning
- Monthly Group Profit in Stock Calculation
VAT
- UK 2 Entity Group VAT Registration
- IDS UK Germany VAT Registration
- Monthly Vat Journal and Reconciliation
- Monthly VAT Return Calculation and Submission
Payroll
- Liasing with HR to provide information to External Outsourced Payroll Provider (CINTRA) for Payroll Calculation
- Summarise monthly movements and highlight exceptions to Head of Finance for approval and payment
- Monthly Payroll Reconciliations – HMRC liability, Pension etc
- P11d, PSA submissions
Others
- Capex Tracking: Track and report monthly capital expenditure against the budget to keep the business on course.

Skills, Knowledge & experience:
Relevant industry experience
- ACCA / CIMA (or equivalent)
- Strong previous experience working within manufacturing companies
- Experience dealing with all aspects of accounting for production / stock
- Experience in variance analysis in ERP systems is favorable

• Understanding of stock / manufacturing costing using different methods
• Logical / rigorous approach to analysis and decision making
• Ability to communicate effectively with non-financial colleagues
• Good Excel skills
• Ability to work out how a finance system is valuing stock, and structure any new set up to ensure the system is working as desired
