Work within Operations & Technology Finance Planning & Analysis (FP&A) function to be the Finance Manager for Innovation Data & Analytics and Security Portfolio by providing financial insight, finance business partnering and commercial support to senior leadership of these functions to ensure data driven decision making

What you’ll be doing

What will your essential responsibilities include?

  • Have a thorough understanding of the financial and operational responsibility of Innovation, Data & Analytics and Security, ensuring awareness of and contribution towards achieving strategic objectives in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
  • Lead the planning process, including annual budgets, reforecasts and long-term financial planning by having a solid understanding of the cost base, expense drivers and project spend within these two functions. This includes awareness of dependencies and impacts across Ops & Tech.
  • Prepare and present regular performance reporting to the Innovation, Data & Analytics and the Security leaders and leaderships teams, identifying key risks, trends and opportunities and in doing so drive a cost-conscious culture across both the operational and finance Ops & Tech teams.
  • Evaluate, build and provide financial inputs into business cases and for new technology investments across Innovation, Data & Analytics and Security teams. This will be done in partnership with the Transformation, Change & Delivery teams.
  • Drive process improvement by enhancing financial models, reporting tools and systems to improve accuracy and efficiency. Leverage standardized ways of working and reporting that are driven by the Finance & Operations Manager and their team.
  • Develop and maintain a trust based working relationships with Operations & Technology functional management and the rest of the Ops & Tech finance team.
  • Collaborate effectively with technical resources across an international environment to ensure planning and forecasting deadlines are met; plans thoroughly explained and all budget processes adhered to
  • Lead ad-hoc reporting and analysis as required, ensure ad-hoc reporting is necessary and adds value. Challenge spend requests from the Innovation, Data & Analytics and Security managers when necessary.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to the Head of Operations & Technology Finance, FP&A, AXA GO and Group/Corporate Finance team members for the Innovation, Data & Analytics and the Security portfolio.
  • You will report to the Head of Operations & Technology Finance, FP&A (based in London, United Kingdom). This role is an individual contributor role.

What you’ll bring

We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:

Required Skills And Abilities

  • University degree or recognized general management qualification in Finance or Accounting (e.g. US undergraduate degree, UK graduate, etc.)
  • ACCA/CIMA or CPA (or equivalent) qualified and/or actively studying towards achieving this qualification
  • Track record of analyzing problems, identifying and evaluating options, deploying sound analytical skills
  • Proven track record of first-class partnering skills across a matrixed organisation
  • Demonstrable evidence of interpreting and manipulating data clearly and accurately with the ability to extract and clearly articulate key points
  • Solid writing skills, ability to develop and present ideas and reasoned arguments clearly and concisely to various audiences
  • Demonstrates solid communication skills, an articulate presenter to internal audiences, exercising appropriate discretion in dealing with people from all levels of the enterprise
  • Ability to build effective working relationships, establishing credibility amongst client group
  • Effective scheduling, prioritization and time management skills and ability to complete tasks within tight deadlines
  • Comfortable taking ownership for own work
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs; Excel (including Pivot Tables), PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, Access; excellent general ledger skills, preferably PeopleSoft
  • Experience of expense reporting and analysis, budgeting and planning
