About The Role
Are you passionate about tackling the climate emergency and driving meaningful environmental change? Hounslow Council is offering an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic Net Zero and Green Economy team as a Sustainability Project Apprentice. This is a levle 4 Associate Project Management Apprenticeship where you will develop the skills to manage projects and gain practical experience supporting delivery of a varied portfolio of climate projects
About The Team You\’ll Be Working In
The Net Zero and Green Economy team at Hounslow Council is at the forefront of the borough\’s response to the climate crisis and is leading the council\’s mission to become net zero by 2030 and the implementation of its Climate Emergency Action Plan. The projects we deliver are providing warmer and cheaper to run homes for residents, greening the borough, promoting sustainable travel, accelerating transition to green economy and securing the investment required to reach net zero.
The team is led by a Head of Net Zero and Green Economy and has several experienced and specialist project managers developing projects in the realm of green economy, green skills and climate investment. You will work primarily under the direction of the Project Managers providing administrative and technical project management support. You will be supported to develop the capabilities for this role by your Line Manager and Apprenticeship Learning Manager. You will from time to time meet with other apprentices as part of gaining your formal apprenticeship project management qualification.
About You
This is a junior grade apprentice role. We are looking for
• Desire to develop project management capability.
• Enthusiasm for environment and improving the lives of our residents.
• Willingness to learn about climate change and gain technical understanding.
• Commitment to a two-year formal project management apprenticeship at Level 4 Apprenticeship.
• The project management apprentice qualification will be undertaken alongside your role supporting delivery of climate projects. You will be given time within the working week to progress your qualification but it\’s important
to understand this will need to be supplemented by additional study and assignment work in your own time.

The NVQ Level 3 project management which forms a key part of this Sustainability Projects Apprentice role requires the following minimum qualifications English and Maths GCSE at level 4 (Grade C) or above, or equivalent qualification. If you have not achieved this grade or can\’t provide the required evidence then you will have to undertake functional skills training and an exam to demonstrate the required English and Maths competency.
