Senior Azure Security Engineer | Microsoft Security Stack | Cloud & Compliance Focused
My client is a leading provider of intelligence and data solutions to major players in the asset management industry. With a workforce of over 600 employees, they are currently expanding their tech and product offerings during a period of rapid growth.
My client is investing heavily in the security and resilience of its Azure cloud environment. With a mature Microsoft stack and clear compliance obligations, they’re hiring a Senior Azure Security Engineer to strengthen their cloud security posture and lead key initiatives around compliance, monitoring, and incident response.
This is a hands-on role focused on implementation, automation, and governance. You’ll work across engineering, DevOps, and InfoSec to drive secure-by-design practices, integrate Microsoft’s security tooling, and ensure environments are compliant and well monitored.
What you’ll be doing:
• Implement and maintain secure Azure architectures, policies, and controls
• Configure and manage tools across the Microsoft Defender suite (Cloud, Endpoint, Identity, M365)
• Lead on Microsoft Sentinel and Purview deployments, working closely with their SOC partner
• Help manage Conditional Access, Entra ID, PIM, and related identity security measures
• Drive compliance with ISO 27001, GDPR, SOC 2, and NIS2 frameworks
• Support incident response and monitoring using Sentinel, Defender, and Microsoft Compliance Manager
• Implement DLP and sensitivity labels, and manage encryption and certificate strategies via Azure Key Vault
• Automate security processes using PowerShell and Microsoft Graph
• Work closely with other teams to embed security across CI/CD and application pipelines
What we’re looking for:
• Deep experience in Azure security, with a strong grasp of Microsoft Defender and Sentinel
• Hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Purview, Entra ID, Intune, and related tooling
• Strong understanding of compliance frameworks and Microsoft’s compliance solutions
• Experience with network security in Azure (e.g. NSGs, ASGs, Azure Firewall)
• Proficient in scripting and automation, particularly PowerShell
• Excellent communicator who can present risk and mitigation plans to non-technical stakeholders
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate (AZ-500) required
• Ideally working towards or already certified in SC-100; bonus points for CISSP, CISM, etc.
Location & Ways of Working:
Hybrid role, typically 1–2 days a week in their London office. They offer flexible working and a collaborative environment, with clear priorities and a focus on delivery over red tape.
• Annual Leave: 24 days to start, rising to 29 days
• Parental Leave: Enhanced policies for growing families
• Health & Wellness: Medicash (Health Cash Plans), wellness days
• Extra Perks: Birthday off, charity days, travel loan, daily breakfast, social events
