Head of Corporate Tax

London (Hybrid)

Overview:

Looking to speak with experienced Corporate Tax professionals to join a Consumer Services group. You will lead corporate tax compliance and reporting, including tax accounting under UK GAAP and IFRS, and provide expert tax advisory support across the organisation.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Compliance & Reporting

  • Lead the preparation and review of UK corporate tax returns.
  • Oversee capital allowances and R&D tax relief claims.
  • Manage Senior Accounting Officer (SAO) certification processes.
  • Monitor tax legislation and ensure timely compliance.
  • Liaise with tax authorities to resolve queries and maintain strong relationships.
  • Drive improvements in tax processes, systems, and data quality.
  • Coordinate group-level tax reporting and disclosures under UK GAAP and IFRS.
  • Support statutory accounts with tax notes and disclosures.

Advisory & Business Partnering

  • Promote tax awareness across the organisation.
  • Provide practical guidance on tax legislation and structuring.
  • Collaborate with internal teams on tax-related matters.
  • Manage relationships with external tax advisors and consultants.
  • Identify and deliver tax planning opportunities (e.g. R&D credits, Patent Box, Land Remediation Relief).
  • Lead implementation of regulatory initiatives (e.g. Pillar 2, Transfer Pricing, Public CbCR).
  • Develop processes for identifying tax relief on property expenditure.
