As the Heavy Rail Operations Manager, you will take the lead in overseeing all aspects of Heathrow’s rail operations, from trackside access to emergency and incident planning, ensuring the highest standards of safety for our colleagues and customers. You\’ll play a key role in building strong, collaborative relationships across the airport, working closely with internal teams and external partners to consistently deliver operational excellence and an outstanding experience for Heathrow Rail users.
- Act as a line manager for Heathrow Rail (station and back of house) colleagues, ensuring effective performance, compliance and service levels are delivered.
- Develop robust emergency and contingency plans, out of hours response and on call processes to ensure effective incident management plans are in place.
- Create strong relationships with key stakeholders to achieve the successful delivery of Heathrow Rail service goals.
- Implement procedures in accordance with health and safety, security and environmental policies, to meet business and regulatory requirements and manage risks.
- Support the review and continuous improvement of our rail service.
- Ensure all employees, contractors and third parties hold the relevant permits to carry out their duties safely and compliantly.
- Professional qualification (ONC minimum) within engineering or asset management.
- Proven experience running a control room operation or managing an operational team.
- Strong people and stakeholder management skills.
- Trained and experienced in incident and accident investigation, with an understanding of how to identify root cause.
- Good working knowledge ofrailway network operations, operating rules,guidelines and performance metrics
- Proficient use of Word, Excel, Project and PowerPoint applications.
