Data Protection Automation Engineer – HIRING ASAP Start date: ASAP
Duration: 3-month initial contract
Location: 3 days in Sheffield office & 2 days working from home
Rate: £500 – £525 per day inside ir35Summary We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Data Protection Automation Engineer. You should have excellent knowledge of the scrum framework, with all its artifacts and techniques. You\’ll also need the ability to coordinate people and projects with your mind set on deliverables.
Responsibilities

  • Contribute to sprints, retrospective meetings, and daily stand-ups.
  • Work with product owners to handle backlogs and new requests.
  • Design, develop, test and support automation for the data protection services (NetBackup and CommVault) within the bank.
  • Design, develop, test and support reporting and monitoring capabilities for the automation.
  • Provide engineering support on the bank\’s data protection products and their standard usage.
  • Undertake product evaluation, new features, and versions.
  • Develop clear and comprehensive documentation for all automation produced.
  • Mentor less experienced members of staff.

Key Skills

  • Excellent knowledge of Scrum techniques and artifacts (such as definition of done, user stories, automated testing, backlog refinement)
  • Extensive knowledge of software development languages, including Python, Bash
  • Comprehensive experience in configuration management and orchestration using RedHat Ansible
  • Proficient in designing, developing, and testing Rest API services.
  • Hands on experience in DevOps SCM tooling. GitLab
  • Competent in DevOps CICD tooling. Jenkins., CloudBees
  • Skilled in using DevOps collaboration tools, Jira, Confluence.
  • Knowledgeable in Veritas NetBackup and related infrastructure
  • Knowledgeable in Commvault and related infrastructure.
