We are seeking a motivated and experienced Credit Eligibility Team Lead to oversee and drive the performance of our 13-person Eligibility team within the Credit Operations Department. This team plays a pivotal role in ensuring all submitted deals are thoroughly reviewed, verified, and ready for assessment by our Credit Decisions team. You will be responsible for managing daily workflows, supporting your team to meet key performance metrics, and fostering a culture of high standards, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of 13 Credit Eligibility Specialists in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Manage team capacity, workload balancing, and performance reviews to ensure operational coverage and excellence
- Foster a collaborative, motivated, and accountable team culture aligned with company values
- Monitor daily pipelines and ensure all deals meet the required quality and readiness standards for the Credit Decisions team
- Troubleshoot bottlenecks, escalations, and process exceptions quickly and effectively
- Ensure service-level agreements (SLAs), turnaround times, and accuracy targets are consistently met or exceeded
- Identify and implement process efficiencies, automation opportunities, and documentation improvements
- Act as a key liaison between the Credit Decisions, Sales and Tech teams to continuously refine and evolve eligibility processes
- Track team KPIs and performance metrics, and report on key trends, risks, and opportunities to leadership
- Provide data-driven insights to enhance decision readiness and operational effectiveness
- Maintain rigorous attention to detail and ensure full compliance with internal credit policies and regulatory requirements
- Champion quality control practices and contribute to regular audits and feedback loops
Requirements
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in leading a large team (10+ members) within a high-volume, fast-paced operations or credit function
- Strong leadership, coaching, and performance management skills
- Deep attention to detail with a process-driven mindset and passion for quality
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills; able to balance strategic oversight with day-to-day execution
- Experience working with cross-functional teams including credit, Sales, and tech stakeholders
- Data-driven decision making and comfort working with performance dashboards and operational reporting tools
- Prior experience in operations in financial services is strongly preferred
Desirable Skills:
- At least 3 years working as a team lead in a fintech environment
Benefits
Salary: £50,000 and up to 7.5% performance-based bonus quarterly.
