About Nothing

Nothing exists to make tech feel exciting again.

We’re building a different kind of technology company, one that puts design, emotion, and human creativity at the heart of everything we do. From the way our products look and feel to how we communicate and show up in culture, we believe technology should make you feel something.

Founded in London in 2020, we’ve grown from idea to global challenger in just a few years. Backed by GV (Google Ventures), EQT Ventures, and C Ventures, and investors like Tony Fadell (iPod), Casey Neistat, and Kevin Lin (Twitch), we’re now sold in 40+ markets with millions of users worldwide.

About the Team

As a Senior Product Design Engineer at Nothing, you’ll be central to shaping the look and feel of our products. We are building something better by blending radical design with engineering excellence. You’ll work from our small studio in King’s Cross, London, and will be a key Senior Engineer within the 10-person Industrial Design team, reporting to the Head of Industrial Design. This role demands that you embody our vision, using your expertise to realise concepts and defend our vision throughout the product development process. This is what innovation should feel like.

What You\’ll Do

  • Use expertise in engineering, materials, and manufacturing to realise our product concepts and defend the design vision throughout the product development process.
  • Apply proven experience in high-volume consumer electronics design engineering at both system and component levels to build something better.
  • Design and iterate parts suitable for an extensive range of production techniques, including plastic & metal injection moulding, forming, and machining processes.
  • Employ advanced consumer electronics engineering skills: mechanics, material science, mechanism design, tolerance analysis, reliability, and FMEA.
  • Collaborate closely with Industrial Designers to ensure technical feasibility while actively shaping the look and feel of our final products.
  • Create and test prototypes fast using various methods (3D printing, CNC, laser cutting, etc.) to validate mechanical and material choices.
  • Drive creative and collaborative problem-solving efforts with strong mechanical intuition to overcome technical barriers quickly.
  • What We\’re Looking For

  • Proven experience (at a senior level) in high-volume consumer electronics design engineering, working at both system and component levels.
  • Extensive experience designing parts for a wide range of production techniques, including plastic & metal injection moulding, forming, stamping, and machining processes.
  • Excellence in core engineering skills: material science, mechanism design, design for assembly, tolerance analysis, reliability, and FMEA.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a highly design-driven environment, with a genuine sensitivity for design and great taste.
  • Excellent CAD proficiency (NX preferred) and experience in prototyping (3D printing, CNC, vacuum forming, etc.).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical intuition, coupled with an owner mindset and honesty—you do what you say you’re going to do.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, a pragmatic willingness to travel internationally, and amazing collaboration skills.
  • How We Work

  • We build better tech by moving fast. That speed demands direct collaboration and shared creative energy. We believe the best work happens when we\’re together.
  • Location: London (Kings Cross & Farringdon offices).
  • Working Pattern: This is a full-time, in-office role (5 days a week). We move fast, and that means being physically present. We design flexibility around personal needs, but we focus on the magic that sparks when we’re all in the same room.
  • Commute: We ask that you live within a 60-minute commute of your home office location.
