Role: Day Senior Care Assistant
Location: Chorley, Lancashire
Service: Astley View Care Home
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £15.000 per hour + Overtime paid at £16.50 per hour
Annual Salary equivalent: £30,030 per annum
Hours: 8am – 8pm, on a two-week rolling rota
Responsibilities
- Oversee and guide the care team to deliver high-quality, person-centred care for residents.
- Set the benchmark for amazing care, administer medication, observe changes in residents’ conditions, and direct appropriate care practices.
- Maintain professionalism and liaise confidently with other healthcare professionals.
- Support management by mentoring and guiding Care Assistants in daily tasks.
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding vulnerable adults’ policies and procedures.
- Conduct risk assessments and create or update care plans in line with residents’ needs and preferences.
- Follow professional standards and adhere to company policies, procedures, and Care Quality Commission regulations.
Experience and Qualifications
- Proven leadership or mentoring experience in an elderly care or dementia care setting.
- Experience in providing outstanding person-centred care.
- Achieved or working towards NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
