SURREY β 2 DAYS PER MONTH IN THE OFFICE β LEAD THE FINANCIAL STRATEGY FOR A COMPLEX PUBLIC SECTOR CONTRACT
Are you a senior finance leader looking to own the numbers for a high-value contract? Do you thrive in a stakeholder-heavy, service-led environment?
We Do Group is hiring a Head of Finance to support a large and complex healthcare portfolio. This is a key leadership role with responsibility for financial performance, strategic planning, and compliance across a multi-million-pound public sector contract.

- Excellent stakeholder skills with confidence working across operational and finance teams
- Experience leading the finance function for a specific long-term contract
The Role:
- Lead the finance function for the Surrey portfolio, reporting to the Group FD
- Drive strategic financial planning, reporting, and performance analysis
- Partner with operational leads and external stakeholders (NHS/local authorities)
- Oversee budgeting and forecasting cycles, including variance analysis
- Ensure compliance with statutory and contractual requirements
- Manage cost control initiatives and support efficiency programmes
- Represent finance during contract negotiations and reviews
- Deliver accurate, timely management accounts and financial KPIs
- Build and mentor a high-performing regional finance team
- Champion continuous improvement and financial best practice
Your Profile:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
- Clear and confident communicator with strong relationship skills
- Solid Excel skills and a commercial, analytical mindset
- Strategic thinker
- Proven track record of owning finance delivery for a defined contract
- Able to manage complexity and influence senior stakeholders
