Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and committed Finance Clerk to join our team based in Ruskington. There is some flexibility for hybrid office and home-based working.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage in a range of day‑to‑day transactional finance activities, including purchase ledger duties, supplier database management, and supplier statement reconciliation.
- Process and post invoices, raise orders, and reconcile the Trust’s credit cards and bank accounts.
- Provide high‑quality service to our schools and central team, communicating with stakeholders daily.
- Handle queries, general office duties, and maintain accurate, secure finance records in accordance with Data Protection legislation.
- Review the nominal ledger, provide analysis, and ensure adherence to financial procedures and regulatory requirements (Education and Skills Funding Agency, Companies Act, Charities Commission, HMRC, Pension Regulator).
- Collaborate with the Trust Accountant and other central finance team members, attending regular meetings and maintaining confidentiality.
- Carry out tasks in line with LAAT Equal Opportunities, Health & Safety, and Safeguarding policies.
Qualifications and Experience
- AAT Level 2/Level 3, bookkeeping qualification, or working towards one.
- Previous experience in a finance role with an understanding of key financial controls.
- Strong customer focus, excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficient in computerised accounting packages and advanced Excel.
- Ability to use judgment, prioritise workload, and escalate issues when necessary.
- Understanding of and empathy with the Christian values of the organisation.
