About The Role

The Division of Biomedical Services at the University of Leicester is a state-of-the-art small animal facility supporting biomedical and translational research within the College of Life Sciences. We are seeking an Animal Technician to care for animals and perform procedural work.

The facility primarily involves rodents and fish, conducting pre-clinical work such as breeding genetically modified animals, testing new treatments for human diseases, surgical procedures, gene editing, and embryo/sperm cryopreservation.

About You

To succeed in this role, you should have a caring attitude towards animals. Experience in a rodent or small animal facility is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided.

We have a dedicated training team to support staff skill development. Good communication skills are essential, along with the ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and engage with team members and researchers.
