Senior HR and Legal Recruiter covering the West Midlands
We are currently working in partnership with a Not‑for‑profit organisation who are looking to appoint a permanent Executive Assistant.
This will be a full‑time position based in Birmingham, with hybrid working (1 day home working) and a circa salary package of £35,000 per annum.
The ideal candidate will be a highly organised, detail‑driven governance professional with proven executive support experience, exceptional communication and compliance skills, and the ability to lead a small team while enabling efficient, confidential, and effective decision‑making across an organisation. They must also have supported at board level or above.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Coordinate Board and Committee meetings, prepare agendas, take minutes, and manage follow‑up actions with full confidentiality and compliance.
- Provide executive support to the CEO and SLT, including complex diary management, travel arrangements, and preparation of reports and presentations.
- Line‑manage Governance & Executive Support Officers and the Legal Assistant, supporting their development and team culture.
- Maintain governance records, support policy reviews, update the risk register, and assist with audits and regulatory submissions.
- Support the induction, training, and ongoing development of Board and Committee members.
- Drive process improvements, strengthen cross‑department collaboration, and assist the Executive Support Manager in delivering effective executive support.
Experience required:
- Strong governance experience, especially supporting Boards/Committees.
- Experience handling confidential information, maintaining governance records, and supporting compliance or regulatory processes.
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
- Excellent organisational and time‑management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including professional correspondence and report writing.
- High attention to detail, especially in minute‑taking, document preparation, and governance records.
- Compliance tracking, audits, and experience in regulated, corporate, or public‑sector environments (desirable).
