Job description
This lovely setting is in Kelvedon and is seeking a Nursery Practitioner to join their team. You should have a Level 3 qualification in childcare and have previous experience in a similar position. The role is full-time, 40 hours per week, with an option for part-time work (2/3 days per week, 8am – 6pm). The nursery is conveniently located with excellent train links into Colchester and London.
This nursery is housed in a large building that offers a home-from-home atmosphere. Each room is welcoming and homely, with a beautiful rustic outdoor area. The toddler rooms have free-flow access to the outside space, which includes a nature area for children. The nursery operates from 8am to 6pm year-round, closing only between Christmas and New Year.
You will be joining a nursery with ambitious plans, where the staff team is stable, happy, and enthusiastic about creating wonderful experiences for children. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated and enthusiastic individual who can work closely within a growing team. You should have excellent communication skills and a calm, approachable nature.
Duties include:
- Provide stimulating and purposeful experiences, environments, and resources suitable for children\’s age and developmental stage.
- Ensure compliance with the statutory framework for the EYFS.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene, promoting these daily in routines.
- Perform duties to ensure the smooth running of the nursery and the safety and wellbeing of children, staff, and families.
- Maintain professional relationships and report any concerns to management according to company policies.
- Implement a strong key person approach to foster secure attachments and cover for absent colleagues.
- Attend regular team meetings to stay updated on priorities, policies, and developments.
Requirements:
- Full and relevant Level 3 childcare qualification – essential
- Over 1 year\’s experience in Early Years – desirable
- Knowledge of the EYFS statutory framework and regulatory requirements
