You will perform as a Mission IT Operator supporting an OCONUS 24×7 government mission. You will provide direct support for detecting, isolating, and resolving ground segment problems; and serve as first responder for all site issues. This position requires broad knowledge of both Windows and Linux-based systems across a global environment.
Shift Work: 12 hours a day (0600-1800, 1800-0600), 4 on 4 off (Day, Day, Night, Night).
What You’ll Get to Do:
- Resolve IT hardware and software infrastructure issues using systems analysis techniques.
- Ensure proper functioning of hardware, software, or system specifications.
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve issues with IT infrastructure including user systems, servers, storage, and network connectivity.
- Provide system administration and establish security measures for assigned infrastructure.
- Support new infrastructure projects.
- Maintain configuration documentation.
- Manage and prioritize incidents effectively.
- Support in high call volume situations, providing first-level technical support via phone, email, and walk-up channels.
- Create and manage support tickets, troubleshoot, and communicate with end users.
- Perform initial assessment, triage, and resolution for incidents; escalate complex issues.
More About the Role:
- Maintain technical baseline infrastructure to meet mission needs.
- Monitor and evaluate system and network problems.
- Manage privileged user access across high-priority systems.
- Interface with government and partner leadership, system operators, and engineers.
- Document problems and support after-action activities.
- Serve as a point of contact for troubleshooting and anomaly resolution.
- Restart system services and hardware as needed.
- Escalate issues to Tier 2 and notify mission director as necessary.
- Coordinate resources across the enterprise to resolve operational issues.
- Work with multiple ground segments providing enterprise-level support.
Required Qualifications:
- Active TS/SCI with Polygraph.
- Current DODI 8570.01-M IAT Level II Certification, Security+ Certification.
- AA Degree in a related technical discipline and relevant experience, or 3-5 years of related experience.
- Excellent communication skills for multi-location enterprise support.
- Ability to work non-standard hours, including weekends and holidays.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with UNIX, Linux, and Windows system administration.
- Experience with virtualization technologies like VMware.
- Knowledge of Enterprise Management Systems such as HP OpenView and CA Concord.
