The Berger Schaffitzel laboratories are seeking to fill a PDRA post at the School of Biochemistry, University of Bristol UK.
Showing a high degree of independence and resourcefulness, you will be developing net-generation vaccines for treating infectious diseases, underpinned by the MultiBac, SynBac and ADDomer technology platforms developed in the Berger Schaffitzel labs. You will carry out world-class research in vaccines. protein design, molecular and structural biology, collaborating with leading global partners. You will participate in a vibrant and dynamic, inclusive and equitable research environment in a laboratory developing and applying cutting edge technology to generate new knowledge and biological insights in a top 10 UK University, in one of the best cities to live in the UK.
What will you be doing?
You will be part of a leading research team engaged in next-generation synthetic vaccine design. You will utilize the MultiBac, SynBac and ADDomer technology platforms developed by the Berger Schaffitzel team and the world-leading resources available at Bristol, to design, generate and characterise affordable, thermostable next-generation vaccines. Using cutting-edge technology, you will carry out and underpin world-class research and development in collaboration with partner in the UK Innovative Future Vaccine Manufacturing and Research Hub.
You should apply if
- Enjoy working on cutting-edge projects in vaccine design, development and characterisation
- Are a dedicated team player in an international, dynamic, diverse and equitable team
- Are independent and resourceful and excited about high-tech platforms including the MultiBac and ADDomer technologies
- Have a keen interest in protein research, infectious diseases and synthetic vaccines
- Have experience with eukaryotic cell culture / tissue culture work
- Have experience with recombinant proteins, ideally vaccines.
