Job Brief:

We are seeking an experienced Residential Licensed Conveyancer to join our growing legal team. The role involves specializing in Buy-to-Let transactions financed through Shariah-compliant investing. The successful candidate will manage caseloads and collaborate with internal teams such as Operations, Investment, Shariah, and Finance to ensure smooth, compliant property acquisitions.

Job Description:

  • Manage a caseload of residential buy-to-let property transactions, including freehold and leasehold titles.
  • Act as the main legal liaison between Wahed and the Sellers.
  • Draft, review, and approve contracts, transfer deeds, and agreements.
  • Conduct due diligence, including reviewing titles, searches, and property documents.
  • Liaise with property searches companies to acquire necessary searches.
  • Present findings before exchange in a report on Title to internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure all property transactions comply with UK legal standards and Shariah financing requirements, including the prohibition of riba (interest). Liaise with HM Land Registry, local authorities, and other external parties as needed.
  • Support the business in maintaining legal accreditation and adherence to regulatory and internal compliance frameworks.
  • Manage timelines and proactively update all parties throughout the transaction process.
  • Handle post-completion tasks such as SDLT filings and registration.

Job Specification:

  • Licensed Conveyancer with 5-10 years PQE in residential conveyancing.
  • Ability to interpret complex legal and financing documents and explain them clearly to non-legal stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in compliance-heavy transactions.
  • Experience working with SPVs or real estate investment platforms is preferred.
