Zeal Permanent Placements are currently hiring for a Balustrade & Structural Welder to join their client in Leicester on a permanent basis.
The successful candidate will be responsible for welding steel balustrades, handrails, staircases, and structural components in accordance with drawings and specifications. This role may include both workshop-based and on-site work.
Key responsibilities:
1. Interpret work from technical drawings, blueprints and fabrication sketches
2. MIG and TIG welding of stainless steel and mild steel components
3. MIG balustrades, staircases, handrails, platforms and structural steel elements
4. Operate standard workshop machinery
5. Perform quality checks on completed welds to ensure strength and accuracy
6. Adhere to company health and safety policies and procedures
7. Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition
Required skills and experience
1. Proven experience in welding steel balustrades and structural steelwork
2. Proficient in MIG and TIG welding techniques
3. Ability to read and interpret engineering and fabrications drawings
4. Skilled in using workshop tools and machinery
5. NVQ Level 2/3 in Fabrication and Welding (or equivalent) desirable
6. Strong attention to detail and pride in high-quality workmanship
7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Hours of work:
Monday to Thursday 7am to 5.30pm
Friday 7am to 9.30am
