We’re supporting a national non profit body in the search for an experienced and strategic Senior Governance Manager to lead on operations, national elections, and the delivery of high-impact governance frameworks.
This is a rare opportunity to influence organisational governance at a senior level while supporting member engagement, board effectiveness, and compliance across a complex and evolving structure.
What you’ll be doing:
- Provide constitutional and governance advice to senior leadership and executive teams
- Oversee all aspects of Council operations and national elections with transparency and integrity
- Align local and national governance frameworks with the organisation’s strategic goals
- Lead on managing compliance, conflicts of interest, and statutory obligations
- Deliver tailored induction, training, and development for elected officers and committee members
- Engage with regional governance structures to promote consistency and best practice
- Line-manage a senior officer and take ownership of the governance function’s budget and planning
What we’re looking for:
- Degree-qualified, with additional professional governance qualifications (e.g. ICSA/CGI) strongly preferred
- Significant experience in senior governance roles within complex, membership-based, public, or regulated environments
- Excellent communication, analytical, and leadership skills
- Confident working with senior stakeholders and navigating constitutional and regulatory challenges
- Strong track record of managing elections, board meetings, compliance reporting, and governance development initiatives
