Job Title: Technical Project Manager – Advanced AI Research
Location: Primarily onsite 3 days a week at our London office (King’s Cross)
Duration: Contract until December 31, 2025, with possible extension based on budget.
Job Summary
We are looking for a highly skilled Technical Project Manager to support an advanced AI research team focused on groundbreaking developments in artificial intelligence and machine learning. This role involves collaborating closely with researchers, engineers, product, legal, and policy teams to ensure smooth execution of complex research projects. You will be responsible for managing project plans, coordinating schedules and meetings, overseeing deliverables, and ensuring effective communication among cross-functional stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Plan, prioritize, and execute AI research projects to meet key objectives and deadlines.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including scientists, engineers, legal, and product groups.
- Manage project schedules, resources, risks, and interdependencies.
- Facilitate communication and reporting to keep stakeholders informed on progress, risks, and mitigation plans.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including product requirements and research reports.
- Coordinate approvals for third-party data set usage and other compliance requirements.
- Identify and resolve project roadblocks to help the team stay focused on deliverables.
- Analyze project data and outputs to provide actionable insights.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 2-4 years of hands-on project management experience, preferably in technology or AI-focused environments.
- Strong technical background with practical experience in machine learning, AI, data mining, pattern recognition, or recommendation systems.
- Proficiency in Python programming.
- Exceptional communication skills to liaise effectively with researchers, engineers, and cross-functional teams.
- Experience managing medium-sized projects with remote or distributed teams is preferred.
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to operate independently.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Direct experience with generative AI or large language model (LLM) research projects.
- Familiarity with research product development.
- Formal project management training or certification is a plus.
