Job Description
Heavy Haulage Administrator
We are looking for an organised and computer‑literate individual to join our busy Transport team. This is a key role ensuring smooth day‑to‑day administration and support for transport planning operations.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage and update transport schedules and records accurately in company systems
- Obtain and file permits and approvals as required
- Ensure compliance with regulations and internal safety standards
- Communicate effectively with customers, drivers and colleagues
- Complete all administrative tasks, including data entry and reporting
- Deal with any issues or infringements promptly
- Conduct regular audits and checks to ensure adherence to company policies and procedures
- Monitor systems and workflows to improve efficiency and cost‑effectiveness
Requirements:
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in administrative work
- Proficiency in computer systems and software used for scheduling and reporting
- Ability to work as part of a team and communicate clearly with colleagues and customers
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Knowledge of transport administration or logistics processes
Experience:
- Experience using Excel and all other Microsoft Applications (Essential)
- Previous experience in an administrative or transport support role (Desired but not essential)
- Familiarity with planning tools such as HIAB or container planning systems (Desired but not essential)
License/Certification:
- Clean Full UK Driving Licence (desirable)
