Job Description

Heavy Haulage Administrator

We are looking for an organised and computer‑literate individual to join our busy Transport team. This is a key role ensuring smooth day‑to‑day administration and support for transport planning operations.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage and update transport schedules and records accurately in company systems
  • Obtain and file permits and approvals as required
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and internal safety standards
  • Communicate effectively with customers, drivers and colleagues
  • Complete all administrative tasks, including data entry and reporting
  • Deal with any issues or infringements promptly
  • Conduct regular audits and checks to ensure adherence to company policies and procedures
  • Monitor systems and workflows to improve efficiency and cost‑effectiveness

Requirements:

  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in administrative work
  • Proficiency in computer systems and software used for scheduling and reporting
  • Ability to work as part of a team and communicate clearly with colleagues and customers
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of transport administration or logistics processes

Experience:

  • Experience using Excel and all other Microsoft Applications (Essential)
  • Previous experience in an administrative or transport support role (Desired but not essential)
  • Familiarity with planning tools such as HIAB or container planning systems (Desired but not essential)

License/Certification:

  • Clean Full UK Driving Licence (desirable)
