Role Summary
We are looking for experienced SC cleared Automation Test Lead to join an existing delivery team working in the Law Enforcement sector based in London. You will be required to support an engineering team, as part of a wider software delivery team.
As the Test Automation lead, one should be capable of greater levels of autonomy and decision making as well as technical leadership of the test process.
The role has a hybrid working pattern, however it will be largely based on customer site in Stratford. You should be expected to attend the office at least 2-3 days per week but sometimes more, to be alongside the rest of the team and for stakeholder management.
Key Skills:-
You will have experience in many of the following:
- Confident in Cypress for front end, JMetre for backend and consideration to both Cypress and React automated component testing.
- Build the respective automation framework(s), integrated into the CICD pipeline.
- Design Automation test Approaches/strategies, test design, adapt and implement them into automated tests with minimal coverage loss.
- Understand and follow standards for programming tools, techniques and advising on their application to other members of the team.
- Code, configure, implement, maintain frameworks, automated scripts, test stubs, drivers, test harnesses and data generation in accordance to the highest standards.
- Demonstrate problem solving abilities using test scripts, diagnostic tools, technical manuals and system documentation to identify, debug, diagnose, report and fix errors.
- Define quality metrics, implement, review measures to quantify and maximize automated test effectiveness and efficiency (maximum test coverage for the minimum number of tests for the fastest test time).
- Produce reports on system quality and metrics on test cases and defects on AWS Jira/Management tools.
- Be recognized as an expert of key technologies e.g. automation, scripting, develops within the team.
- Demonstrate problem solving abilities for complex problems and devise/design strategies to formulate solutions.
- Identify automation opportunities and automate all aspects of build, release, testing, continuous integration and deployment.

Due to the projects you’ll work on, and the clearance required, you will be required to work from a secure site (office) location (depending on project commitments). Typically our project teams work 2-3 days a week on site, though some roles involve 4-5 days, with sites in London (Southwark and Stratford). The clearance level you’ll be required to achieve isSC . The clearance vetting process will take place over the course of the on boarding programme and will be managed by BAE Systems Shared Services.
