Quest Search and Selection is currently looking for a Senior Category Manager to lead their FMCG Health categories. Product range include (but not exhaustive) Nutritional Products, Vitamins, Protein Powders, Gut Health, Cough & Cold remedies, Home testing kits & CBD products
The business is for a retail e-commerce platform with operations in the UK & Europe, who is currently growing their FMCG category team! Their advanced technology offers fast and reliable delivery services, within hours or by the next day. With 1st class, supply chain at its core & cutting-edge digital solutions, this business is renowned for its innovation and excellence, all within a start-up culture.
The roles & responsibilities of this Senior Category Manager – FMCG Health role:
- Developed relationships with key brands and suppliers, successfully onboarding market-leading partners.
- Led purchasing and sales initiatives within the Health & Wellbeing category, driving growth and performance.
- Analysed key performance metrics to identify sourcing gaps and implement strategies for supplier and category optimisation.
- Monitored inventory to ensure consistent stock availability and prevent shortages or overstocking.
- Strong customer understanding backed by deep market insight and a solid track record in strategic purchasing.
- Created and executed end-to-end sales strategies, including pricing models and promotional plans.
- Identified and secured new supplier partnerships, negotiated commercial terms, and ensured accurate data and fee structures.
- Curated a targeted product assortment aligned with consumer needs and usage trends.
The qualifications of this Senior Category Manager – FMCG Health :
- Have 4 -7 + year experience within buying /category/merchandising experience ideally operating at a senior or manager level.
- You must come from a retail, eCommerce, Marketplace or Supplier background with strong knowledge of the UK market within this category.
- That you must have must current or past experience within the Health, Wellbeing or wellness categories & have strong supplier relationships.
- Strong consumer insight and market knowledge, underpinned by a track record of strategic purchasing success.
- Well-established supplier network within the UK FMCG landscape.
- Advanced analytical skills with a keen attention to data accuracy and a structured, logical approach to problem-solving.
- Clear and confident communicator with a proactive mindset and a commitment to continuous professional development.
