Working in partnership with the NHS, Blatchford provides the orthotic service across Lancashire and Morcombe Bay.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Orthotist to support our clinics across the region. Your key focus will be on our clinics in Lancaster, Kendal and Barrow-in-Furness.
This is a highly varied role where you will treat a wide range of patients and work in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary clinical team. You will also gain exposure to Prosthetic patients.
The role
As a Graduate Orthotist you will use your clinical skill and experience to contribute to the delivery of a first class Orthotic Clinical Service.
We are seeking a Graduate Orthotist with broad-based experience who is looking for an opportunity to develop and contribute.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting a caseload of clients with a wide range of complex conditions and recommending the best course of intervention.
- Effectively communicating with informed patient consent, discussing the reasons for the prescription.
- Providing counselling, advice, and support as necessary to maximise rehabilitation potential and to ensure understanding of condition.
- Assessing, measuring, casting, fitting, supplying, reviewing, and adjusting orthoses as required.
- Maintaining appropriate clinical notes and records.
- Providing training in the field of Orthotics at all levels.
What are we looking for?
Essential skills and experience
- Qualified in Prosthetics/Orthotics
- HCPC registration
- Member of BAPO/ISPO (desirable)
- Experience in a wide range of orthotic provision including paediatrics, orthopaedics, and footwear.
- Able to prioritise and manage workload.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of communicating with colleagues at all levels.
- Be able to manage difficult, challenging, and sensitive situations.
- Good judgment and decision-making skills
