Health, Safety, Environmental & Sustainability Manager Overall job purpose The Health, Safety, Environmental, and Sustainability (HSES) Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining health, safety, environmental, and sustainability policies and programs. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety Management) and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management Systems) standards, as well as drive and report on our sustainable development goals. Whitebirk Industrial Estate Blackburn, Lancashire BB1 5RF Health, Safety, Environmental & Sustainability Manager Your Key Responsibilities: Provide leadership, guidance and support to a team of employees. Responsible for managing employee relations such as absence management, the handling of disputes, grievances and disciplinary matters, and having a good understanding of the Company’s policies and procedures related to this area. Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies and procedures in alignment with ISO 45001 standards. Review, update and maintain ISO14001 environmental system requirements. Participate in the definition, implementation and monitoring of the company’s sustainability strategy. Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks. Manage and maintain the organization’s Incident Management Plan. Reviewing PPE requirements along with coordination of employee health surveillance checks. Monitor compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations and standards, ensuring the organization meets all legal requirements. Responsible for first aid reporting, incident recording, trending and instigating improvement activities. Organize and deliver training sessions for employees on health and safety practices, including emergency procedures and safe work practices. Monitor and report on environmental performance, including waste management, emissions, and resource usage. Monitoring and recording of all energy and material use throughout the site for carbon footprint and CBAM reporting. Advise the organisation regarding ESG matters, identifying possible areas for improvement. Responding to customer requests for information on sustainability topics. Health & Safety It is the responsibility of the post holder to promote health, safety and welfare throughout the Company. The post holder will undertake their duties and responsibilities in full accordance with the Company’s Health & Safety Policy and procedures. Development & Learning: The post holder will be expected to develop their understanding of new technologies by undertaking training when requested. The post holder is responsible for ensuring the development of employees under their supervision and for undertaking the performance management of those staff. Education & Training: Qualified to a minimum of NEBOSH national general certificate (health & safety). Ideally a member of IEMA and IOSH. Ideally ISO 45001/14001 Internal Auditor.
