A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an onsite/field based IT Engineer to join a rapidly growing IT Services and Solutions business

This position will form a key part of the IT Support team, working with a fantastic team of individuals and giving you exposure to leading server and networking technologies.

Further responsibilities within the role will include;

  • Perform scheduled contract visits at customer sites and complete relevant documentation

  • Attend customer sites and troubleshoot IT issues which cannot be resolved remotely by the Network Operations Centre

  • Provide management and support of the client’s core infrastructure, services and data within defined SLA’s to ensure a continuity of service to all users including fault diagnosis, resolution and escalation.

  • Deploy end user hardware such as desktops, laptops and tablets, cabling, printers, AV equipment and other peripherals as well as deployment and management of end user software.

  • Support IT projects and activities, ensuring that IT systems are reliable and performant at all times.

  • Providing support to a mixture of public and private sector customers, with a large percentage being in the education sector.

  • Provide holiday and sickness cover onsite at customer sites when required

  • Provide field-based cover to primarily Gloucestershire/Bristol/Somerset regions

Technology exposure needed;

  • Windows Server (2012, 2012 R2, 2016 & 2019)

  • Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Group Policy, WDS and WSUS

  • Office 365

  • Backup & Replication

  • Anti-Virus

  • Basic TCP/IP, switching and routing configuration and installation

  • Firewall and VPN configuration

  • Corporate wireless systems

  • Hypervisor experience (VMWare/Citrix/Hyper-V)

Salary – up to £34,500 package plus company car

Permanent vacancy, Package details and benefits –

  • A basic salary of up £34,500 per annum

  • Company car – please note you will be required to hold a full UK driving licence

  • A generous holiday allowance of 25 days plus bank holidays, which increases with the length of service

  • A DBS check will be part of the recruitment process
