  • Being responsible for the Group’s Employment Tax Control framework and Processes, delivered through internal shared service functions and third-party outsource providers.
  • Owning Employment Tax Risk Governance frameworks, striving for continuous improvement in the Group’s tax governance, controls, and processes. Proactively identifying risks and implementing mitigations.
  • Supporting expatriate tax/remote worker issues and being the primary point of contact for HR, Payroll, Immigration, and internationally mobile colleagues to advise on overseas employment taxes and social security.
  • Managing international employment tax issues arising from global mobility, including monitoring movements, liaising with advisors, and partnering closely with HR on policy and processes.
  • Managing new global compliance processes and internal improvements to the end-to-end process including any technology solutions.
  • Managing global employee benefit reporting, specifically UK compliance including transition to payrolling benefits, PAYE Settlement Agreements, and overseeing the production and review of the annual PSA return.
  • Advising on employment tax aspects of share plans, including tax reporting for share plans and developing tax guides for our various share plans in each location.
  • Proactively partnering with stakeholders to develop successful long-term strategic relationships, advising on operations and transactions to add value and reduce risk.
  • Advising on all employment tax issues, including employment status and termination payments.
  • Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with HMRC as the main point of contact regarding employment tax, including dealing with HMRC enquiries.
  • Reviewing new international legislation and reporting standards and advising on the implications for the Group.

PERSONAL PROFILE

  • Qualified accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA), tax advisor (CTA), Masters in Tax or equivalent.
  • Relevant experience in employment tax advisory and compliance in a large multinational business.
  • In-depth UK employment tax knowledge; Italian, US, and APAC experience is desirable.
