Overview
The Medicines Management Directorate invites applications from enthusiastic and committed registered Pharmacy Technicians to join our vaccine and WDA team, based across Princess of Wales and Ysbyty Cwm Rhondda Hospital.

Responsibilities
- Working as an Accredited Checking Technician undertaking the final check and release of prescriptions
- Dispensing and issuing prescriptions and customer orders as part of the WDA wholesale activity
- Management of the vaccine supply service across CTM to schools, CVCs and Primary Care teams
- Participation in the ward-based medicines management service: taking accurate drug histories, assessing patients’ medication for suitability, organising supplies for use in hospital and at discharge, and providing advice and counselling to patients (if not accredited, you will be expected to undertake the all Wales qualification to enable this aspect)
- Participation in the induction and supervision of new Pharmacy staff and acting as a mentor for junior staff
Qualifications and Requirements
- BTEC and NVQ Level 3 in Pharmaceutical Sciences OR equivalent qualifications to enable registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
- Accredited Checking Technician qualification
- Willingness to work towards the all Wales Accredited Medicines Management qualification if not previously completed
- Excellent communication and organisational skills; self-motivated and able to work with new ways of working
- Attention to detail; able to work under pressure; able to work both in a team and independently
