Job Description
As the Marine Geoscience Consultant, you will support the delivery of subsea cable and offshore renewables projects on behalf of Intertek\’s clients, with an emphasis on subsea survey, cable installation, planning and design, risk assessment and project management. Our Marine team at Intertek Metoc has over 30 years of expertise in the offshore sector. From offshore wind and marine cables to coastal processes and consenting, we work on diverse, high-impact projects across the marine energy and infrastructure industries.
Required skills and experience:
- Master\’s or Bachelor\’s Degree in relevant technical subject
- Experience within the offshore hydrographic, geophysical and/or geotechnical survey industry or experience in design and installation of subsea infrastructure
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including report writing
- Familiarity with Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Management Systems and compliance requirements for offshore projects.
Additional Desirable Skills:
- Interconnector (power/telecoms) or offshore wind array/export cabling project experience
- Consultancy experience
- Experience in leading or supporting the bidding process on an engineering project
- Technical proficiency in GIS, CAD and industry standard processing and software packages (e.g. SSS, MAG, SBP)
- Marine survival and offshore medical certification
