ABOUT THE ROLE
ProfessionLX specializes in professional services where we engage our employees to empower them to excel for our customers. We are currently seeking Academic Advisor & Test Examiner candidates to support RAF Mildenhall. This position supports the U.S. Air Force Education & Training Section by providing academic advising to military personnel, civilians, and dependents, and by proctoring official exams (Pearson VUE, FAA, DLPT, DLAB, and others) in a secure, compliant environment. The role requires strong knowledge of U.S. military education programs (e.g., CCAF, AFCOOL, SkillBridge), excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work independently while following standardized procedures. Experience with USAF education systems and previous work in a base education center are highly desirable.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Supporting Educational Success
-
You’ll work one-on-one with active-duty service members, civilian employees, and eligible dependents to guide them through their educational goals — from basic skills to graduate-level programs.
-
You’ll advise on college options, credentialing programs like AFCOOL, and officer accession pathways, helping learners align their studies with personal and professional development.
Navigating Financial Aid and Military Benefits
-
You’ll assist with understanding and completing applications for Tuition Assistance, VA benefits, scholarships, and grants.
-
You’ll be the go-to resource for helping students leverage programs like the SkillBridge initiative, ensuring they’re aware of career-aligned opportunities.
Administering Exams Securely and Professionally
-
You’ll serve as the primary test proctor for a wide range of examinations including Pearson VUE, FAA, and Air Force-specific tests (DLPT, DLAB, CDCs, etc.).
-
You’ll ensure all exams are administered under strict compliance standards, maintain test logs, and respond immediately to any issues that could compromise test integrity.
Maintaining Accurate Records and Reports
-
You\’ll be responsible for logging student interactions, scheduling, and documenting test activity in systems like AFAEMS.
-
You’ll also prepare and submit weekly reports, help track exam results, and support internal audits with accurate record keeping.
Serving as a Key Part of the Education Center Team
-
While much of your work is independent, you’ll coordinate with the Education & Training Section (ETS) Chief, support CCAF graduation events, and serve as a knowledgeable presence in the center.
-
You’ll also monitor and manage the physical testing environment, ensure proper use of secure materials, and maintain compliance with operational security standards.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING
- Solid understanding of USAF voluntary education programs, including CCAF, AFCOOL, PME, and officer accession paths
- Excellent verbal communication and customer service skills, with the ability to support a diverse military community
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for maintaining test logs, advising records, and compliance reports
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher)
- Comfort working in secure testing environments, following strict procedures, and completing recurring proctor certifications (e.g., Pearson VUE, FAA)
- Ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality, and adapt to changing schedules or priorities
- A commitment to supporting personal and professional growth for service members and their families
YOUR EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS
- A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- At least 15 semester hours in education, social sciences, or related field — or 1+ year of relevant academic advising experience
