Your role

Leading your team, youll focus on the teams area of work, making sure that work is prioritised and organised and your team fully skilled to meet objectives. As an effective Team Leader, you recognise the importance of the teams overall wellbeing and can motivate your team to succeed.

You will contribute to the delivery of operational, performance and service standard targets and provide statistical data for the management team and judiciary. Your keen eye for detail and desire for continuous improvement is key to your success. Monitoring and analysing performance areas and trends, conducting ongoing reviews of procedures and work practices is essential, as is your ability to successfully recommend improvements, navigate change and manage the implementation of new initiatives and legislation.

This is a challenging and rewarding role, key to the smooth running of operational functions throughout HMCTS. Further Details

New recruits to the Civil Service joining MoJ are expected to join at the band minimum.

These operational roles are customer facing, requiring successful applicants to be office based to provide HMCTS services to the public. Standard full time working hours are 37 hours per week. HMCTS welcomes part-time, flexible and job-sharing working patterns, subject to business needs and agreed prior to appointment. All applications for part-time, flexible and job-sharing working patterns will be considered in accordance with the MoJ Flexible Working policy. Applications for part-time working would be considered however due to the nature of the role the minimum hours would be 30 hours per week.

Skilled Worker Visa: From 22 July 2025, the Government increased the salary threshold and skills level for Skilled Worker visas. This role does not meet the eligibility criteria for sponsorship in accordance with the current immigration rules if you are applying for a Skilled Worker Visa for the first time. The Department cannot sponsor you unless you have held a Skilled Worker visa continuously since before 22 July 2025. If you have held a Skilled Worker visa continuously, please raise this during vetting checks and eligibility will be assessed in accordance with immigration rules. If you do not meet the new eligibility criteria for sponsorship, you will need to consider your right to work in the UK in light of these changes. Location: This post will be based at Nottingham County Court, Canal Street, Nottingham, NG1 7EJ.

Working arrangements

The MoJ offers Hybrid Working arrangements where feasible. This is a flexible, non-contractual arrangement that blends working from base location, MoJ sites and/or from home. All employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in an office, subject to local estate capacity. Some roles may not be suitable for Hybrid Working. Arrangements will be discussed and agreed with the successful candidate(s) and reviewed regularly.

For nationally advertised roles, successful candidates will be appointed to the nearest viable office to their home postcode and on its pay scale. For current MoJ employees, base location may change to the nearest viable office. Civil Service reform changes may apply to terms and conditions for new joiners. MoJ terms may vary for specialists and redeployment arrangements.
