We are searching for a Bid Manager who will work as part of the Business Development Team, supporting the Head of Bids and Product Management in the application of best practice in bids & proposals management and creation. Responsible for the effective planning, implementation and release of winning proposals this role will include the development and application of robust proposal processes, winning bid strategies, cross business workshare planning, scheduling and collation in readiness for presentation at business level reviews for all bid opportunities.

Your Challenge

  • Receive bid and proposal requests and prepare for bid / no-bid reviews Lead all proposal activities, including the workshare distribution of proposal workshare activities to execute proposal creation and on time submission
  • Coordination of cross-functional / departmental activities
  • To collate information and create cohesive proposals using information presented by the business unit cross functional teams
  • To Ensure written proposals are aligned to commercial offers
  • To prepare bid pack data in readiness for business review
  • To present bid strategies to local and corporate management as part of an approval process
  • To liaise with the external sales team to provide feedback and status as required
  • Ability to coordinate several strategic proposals simultaneously
  • To ensure compliance with guiding procedures
  • To identify and articulate value propositions
  • Support and drive continuous improvement initiatives in the bids and proposals process

Your Expertise

  • Business winning professional with extensive proposals management experience on major bids.
  • Experience of proposals management within defense-based industries in both public and private sector.
  • Educated to degree level
  • Enhanced skills in effective proposal management and bid writing
  • Ability to identify and articulate customer requirements
  • Ability to present bid strategies to senior management
  • Effective written communication skills
  • Demonstrable collaborative behaviours
  • Flexible approach to working and ability to use initiative

  • Experience providing in depth financial analysis of P&L proposals, for new equipment s and devising strategies to increase deal profitability and customer acceptability
  • Prior experience with customer specification review, proposal development, contract development and negotiations.
