Part of London + Regional Hotels, The Lensbury Resort is located on the Banks of the River Thames at Teddington and is home to an exclusive leisure club, a 155 bedroom hotel, meeting and events space, restaurant and bar, Spa and 25 acres of gardens and grounds.
The Role
As one of our Chef de Parties, you will work in both our all day Restaurant kitchen and our Banqueting kitchen, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of your designated section. You will work under the guidance of the Sous Chef and Head Chef to deliver high-quality dishes and maintain consistency in food preparation. This role requires a strong culinary background, excellent organisational skills, and a passion for creating exceptional dining experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook dishes to the highest standards, following recipes and guidelines provided.
- Ensure all food items are prepared in a timely manner, maintaining quality and presentation standards.
- Oversee and manage your designated section in the kitchen.
- Conduct regular quality checks on ingredients and finished dishes.
- Contribute ideas for seasonal specials and innovative dishes, considering customer preferences, dietary restrictions, and cost-effectiveness.
- Assist in monitoring inventory levels and participate in stock rotation to minimise wastage.
- Support and mentor the Commis Chefs and Apprentices.
- Follow strict hygiene, health, and safety guidelines, ensuring compliance with food handling regulations and cleanliness standards.
What we are looking for?
- NVQ level 2/3 or similar relevant industry experience and qualifications
- Proven experience of running a section, ideally within a high volume and quality, multi outlet kitchen and a banqueting kitchen (min 1AA Rosette)
- Must have valid certificate at Level 2 Food Hygiene
- Clean, neat and methodical approach to work
- Able to work under pressure
- High standard of food hygiene
- A passionate individual and team player
- Must be willing to work hard and be flexible as per business needs
Terms and Conditions:
- Full Time position (40 hours per week)
- Flexibility required – to include evenings and weekends
