The school seeks support staff experienced or qualified in working with students with hearing impairments.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with teachers to create and deliver engaging activities.
• Develop a holistic approach to meet students\’ needs by implementing action plans and strategies for progress.
• Assist in developing and implementing Individual Education Plans, Risk Assessments, and Care programmes.
• Work with teachers, support staff, families, and external agencies to provide optimal support.
• Establish therapeutic relationships tailored to individual student needs.
• Use a radio aid device to connect with students.

Candidate Requirements:

• Experience or interest in working with children with hearing impairments.
• Good knowledge of SEN and a passion for development.
• Willingness to work fixed days, full or part-time.
• Makaton training.
• NVQ in Childcare and Education or Supporting Teaching and Learning Schools.
• British Sign Language Level 1-3.
• Phonics experience (for pupils with cochlear implants).
• Experience fostering independence and supporting social/emotional development.
• Valid DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
